Science Club

Students who join the Science Club are required to maintain high academic and behavioral standards. Students who meet these requirements in grades 10-12 are eligible for an amazing, educational 5-day field trip to Dauphin Island Sea Lab. While there, students will participate in educational classes and build underwater ROVs.  They will board the Discovery fishing vessel where they will run nets and pull a variety of organism from the ocean and learn about each one. Students will also participate in a marsh discovery wherein they will learn about the delicate ecosystem and the organisms that live there.  There are also days where we have down time to do activities such as kayaking, visit forts on the island, beach time, nature walks, as well as visit the Alabama Aquarium at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab.  Plus much, much more! Students work hard to maintain grades and fundraise for 2 years leading up to this awesome trip. We are scheduled to return to Dauphin Island in April, 2025.
